Fereydoon Foroghi and “khak”

 

Three years ago on this day, Fereydoon passed away. He was one of the few legendary singers who stayed in Iran after the revolution.

 

To me, his music never had borders. He had combined the eastern and western style music with strong farsi lyrics. In fact, him and a few other vocalists such as Korosh Yaghmai, Farhad, and Shahyar Ghanbari, introduced an innovative way of looking at political songs.

 

Human liberty and freedom was the center point of his lyrics.
